Family Friendly Events in Chicagoland This Weekend:

FRIDAY

9:00 AM – All Sports Rockin’ Tots Party at Rockin Jump in Carol Stream. For ages 6 and under from 9 – noon. Wear your favorite sports gear and have fun with arts and crafts, sweet treats, and TRAMPOLINES!

9:00 AM – Party In The Park at Plunkett Park in Elmhurst for kids of all ages. Enjoy bubbles, hula hoops, jump ropes, giveaways, refreshments, and more!

9:30 AM – Toddler Time at SkyZone Aurora for ages walking to 5 years old

9:30 AM – Grand Opening of WonderPlay & Cafe in Algonquin for ages 0-6 years old. Stop by for a chance to win great raffle prizes from local businesses all week long. Stop by anytime this week starting Friday. You are allowed to bring outside food and drinks as the cafe is not open yet.

11:30 AM – Make an Emoji Stress Ball at Learning Express Countryside for ages 3+

12:00 PM – School’s Out: Party in the Plaza at Elmhurst City Centre. Enjoy the DJ, dancing, prizes, and free sunglasses for all students.

12:30 PM – Paco’s Birthday Party at Blackberry Farm. Enjoy fun games and treats as well as visits with the birthday boy, Paco the donkey!

4:00 PM – Taste of Wheaton in downtown Wheaton begins and runs through the weekend. Enjoy carnival rides, local food, live entertainment, family friendly games / crafts, beer garden, and more!

  • Saturday: Noon – 11 pm
    • The Kids Activity Area has a lot going on Saturday including meeting Cat Boy (12-2), Touch A Truck, Tie Dye station, and more!
  • Sunday: 1 – 8 pm

5:00 PM – International Children’s Day Party at Kids Club & Party LLC in Schaumburg. Music, dancing, bubbles, balloons, Peppa, and Elmo!

5:30 PM – Summer Reading Kickoff Party at the La Grange Public Library. Bounce house, games, face painting, balloon animals, snow cones, popcorn, and more!

5:00 PM – Lincoln Park Greek Fest begins and lasts through the weekend on the grounds of St. George Greek Orthodox Church. Enjoy authentic food, music, dancing, and more!

  • Saturday, Noon – 11 pm
  • Sunday Noon – 10 pm

6:00 PM – Vintage Rides in Downtown Wheaton

7:00 PM – Late Night Splash at Maryknoll Splash Park. The splash park will be open until 8:30 this night! Regular admission required.

7:00 PM – Battle of The Bands at Side Street Art Studios in Elgin. Support local music!

8:30 PM – Movie in the Park: Wonder Woman at Cantigny. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and bug spray! Seating is first come, first serve

8:00 AM – Autism Speaks Walk at Soldier Field.

  • 8:00am Registration/Check-In opens
  • 10:00am Opening Ceremonies
  • 10:30am Walk Starts (on field)
  • Activities outside of stadium will begin at 11:00am
  • 11:00am After Party
  • 1:00pm Event Concludes

9:00 AM – Touch A Truck at Turtle Splash Water Park in West Chicago. Free event for the whole family!

9:00 AM – Sail Into Summer at Pottawatamie Park Pavilion in St. Charles. Your ticket includes a paddlewheel riverboat cruise, round of mini golf, party games, treats, and swag bag from local businesses.

9:30 AM – La Grange Pet Parade. Steps off from the intersection of La Grange Road and Cossitt Ave!

10:00 AM – 6th Annual Vintage Auto Fest in Glen Ellyn at Stacy’s Tavern. Event goes until 3 pm and admission is free.

10:00 AM – Hello Kitty Cafe Truck at Oak Brook Center. Find the truck between Macy’s, Mitchell Gold, and Bob Williams. The truck will be there until 8 pm.

10:00 AM – Stories In The Park at North Riverside Parks and Rec. Cinderella will lead story time and activities followed by autographs and photos.

10:00 AM – Cavalcade of Planes in Bolingbrook. Enjoy lots of different aircraft to see both in the air and on the ground!

10:00 AM – Touch A Truck in Naperville at Grace United Methodist Church.

10:00 AM – Bow Wow Dog Event at Happy Tails Dog Park in Buffalo Grove.

  • Vendors like dog groomers, an adoption program, pet suppliers, veterinarians, etc. Dogs can also meet / Mingle with other dogs. All dogs must have current shots.

10:00 AM – Gold Coast Art Fair at Grant Park. Over 200 world class artists to purchase from. Take your kids to enjoy the Blick Art Tent.

  • This fair goes through Sunday at 6pm.

11:00 AM – Star Wars Day in downtown Joliet at the Joliet Public Library Ottawa Street Branch, Rialto Square Theatre, Joliet Area Historical Museum and on Clinton and Chicago Streets. This is a free event!

11:00 AM – Touch A Truck at Santa’s Village Amusement Park.

  • Saturday & Sunday 11 – 3 pm.

11:00 AM Taste of Yelo in Geneva. Ice pops, bubble tea, and taster size options of traditional Filipino foods.

11:30 AM – Little Monsters Creative Movement at Lunges ‘N Lattes in Berwyn. Through use of song, movement, stretching, and dance students will create characters and learn physical storytelling in a supportive environment. For ages 3 – 9.

12:00 PM Division Street Family Fun Fest on Hoyne between Crystal and Potomac. Saturday and Sunday from 12 – 6. Fun for the whole family with petting zoo, mega slide, and a great stage line up!

2:00 PM – Wing Out Chicago. Outdoor, chicken wing, block party held in the St. Michael’s Old Town Parking Lot.

  • Saturday & Sunday from 2 – 6 pm.

 

2:00 PM – Make a Glow Magic Jar at Learning Express Countryside. FREE and for ages 6+. Obtain your free ticket through the link.

2:30 PM – Elsa and Anna’s Frozen Extravaganza at Fitz’s Spare Keys in Elmhurst. Watch frozen, sing the soundtrack, meet and greet, and activities!

SUNDAY



7:30 AM – Run For The Zoo at Lincoln Park Zoo. Run past winged creatures, gallop alongside gazelles, and race next to rhinos. After you complete the race, join all participants for a post-race celebration on the zoo’s Main Mall.

8:00 AM – Hooked on Fishing at Oakhurst Forest Preserve in Aurora. Fishing gear, bait, and lunch will be provided.

9:00 AM – The Little Red Donut Truck in Geneva at Ace Hardware. Watch as they make their famous apple cider donuts!

9:00 AM – Chicago Children’s Museum Free First Sundays!. Admission is free for children 15 and under!

11:00 AM – Aurora Historical Society Day. To kick off Aurora Museum Week, head to Blackberry Farm from 11 -5 and Tanner House Museum for tours at 1, 2 & 3 pm.

11:00 AM – Strawberry Jazz Festival. Free admission and free parking in the Northfields Square Mall in Bourbonnais.

1:00 PM – 360 Chicago ( Hancock Observation Deck) Sunday Funday. Enjoy magic and music amongst spectacular views!

3:00 PM – Be King Chicagoland Kindness Walk in Highland Park. Receive a Be Kind button and walk around the outer loop of Sunset Woods park. Get crafty and make your own signs with messages of kindness to walk with!
