  • First Fridays on August 2 welcomes a block party to the night of art, music, and more in downtown Aurora.
  • Enjoy food trucks, live music, live art, vendors, and more at the Stolp Block Party from 6 to 10 p.m. The party closes Stolp Avenue from Downer Place to Galena Boulevard. Saint Astro and Glad Rags perform at the gazebo at Millennium Plaza.

  • Downtown Downers Grove hosts the Summer Nights Classic Car Show on Friday nights from 6 to 9 pm all summer long.
  • All classic cars welcome on Main from Maple to Franklin. Featured Cars on Curtiss must be 25 years (1994) or older. Live music at the train station and a trophy awarded to the “best” featured car each week.

6:00 PM: Vintage Rides Wheaton

  • Theme: Camaro Night / Southern Rock
  • Vintage Rides returns to the new, beautiful Front Street in Summer of 2019!

On Friday, kick off our sixth annual Destination Asia festival with a formal ceremony, engaging performances, culinary delights, and a breathtaking Japanese lantern display, Toro Nagashi, on Meadow Lake.

10:00 AM: Art at the Glen

  • “Art at the Glen truly is a cultural destination. In addition to the variety of art available for purchase, downtown Glenview boasts a slew of upscale shopping and dining experiences. To the delight of art enthusiasts and shoppers, artists will be available at their booths to give demonstrations and one-on-one conversations about their artistic processes. Young art festival attendees are invited to visit the kid’s area which hosts activities made just for them, including interactive games and activities along with art scavenger hunts! To top it all off, the weekend festivities will be accompanied by hit music duo Cirrus Falcon.”

  • Enjoy performances and activities all day during our fifth annual Destination Asia Festival with 4 stages, a vendor expo, food trucks and Asian cuisine, martial arts, and more!
  • Did you know The Morton Arboretum has a vast tree and shrub collection from Asian countries? Explore our tree collections from China, Japan, and Korea and learn about the important conservation efforts with which the Arboretum participates.

10:00 AM: Vintage Transport Extravanganza

  • Illinois Railway Museum in Union, IL

11:00 AM: Secret Agent Storytime

  • Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to sing, dance, read books, and make crafts with Agent Zach and your friends, parents, and siblings on the first Sunday of every month at the Wicker Park Secret Agent Supply Co.   • This event is free and open to the public. Recommended for junior agents ages 0-4 and their families.

11:00 AM: Kidzapalooza at Lolla

  • Going to Lollapalooza this year? Did you know that children under 10 get in free with their parent?

With a dedicated Family Services area and the Tag-A-Kid program available to register your child, Kidzapalooza ensures that you and your family have a great time at Lolla!”
  • “Kidzapalooza is thrilled to provide a private space where nursing and expectant mothers can change a diaper, apply sunscreen to their children, pump or nurse! The Family Services space is shared with the Tag-A-Kid space in the Kidzapalooza area at the festival. It closes at 7PM Thursday – Sunday.”
  • Lollapalooza takes place Thursday, August 1 – Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Grant Park in Chicago, IL. The festival hours are 11AM – 10PM each day.

12:00 PM: Edgefest

  • “Chicago’s historic Edgewater neighborhood will become a celebration of all things North Side as flavorful cuisine, award-winning entertainment, and family fun take center stage during Edge Fest. Now in its fifth year, this annual event focus on all things Edgewater, with local musicians and vendors showcasing all that the exciting neighborhood has to offer. With an outdoor café setting, Edge Fest will be a one-of-a-kind experience unlike any other on the city’s North Side.”

12:00 PM: Boating in the Park

  • “Row or pedal your way around Lake Ellyn! We will have kayaks, canoes, and a pedal boat available to rent from noon-4pm. Instructions are available on dry land before you venture out. Pack a picnic to enjoy by the shore and spend the afternoon enjoying the park. Rental fee: $5 per boat for 20 minutes. No pre-registration required.”
  • All ages welcome, however, each participant must be able to safely fit into a Glen Ellyn Park District life jacket. Life jackets are available for children (~20 lbs and up) and adults.

12:00 PM: Kids Fest Lake County

  • “The funnest festival in town! First  annual Kids Fest is Sunday, August 4th from 12 pm. to 7 pm at the Round Lake Beach Civic and Cultural Center. Kids Fest is a free event, fun-filled day of activities for the whole family. The day features an Inflatatbale Zones, live stage entertainment, hands on activities, climbing wall, Slime Zone and much more!

2:00 PM: Jeff Fest (aka Jefferson Park Arts & Music Festival)
