FRIDAY

 

Brookfield Zoo Brick Safari
  • Runs May 11th- September 29th on the East side of the zoo
  • Experience more than 40 life size animal sculptures made entirely out of Lego’s!
  • Admission is an additional 5$ for adults and $3 for children aged 3-11. (1/2 off if you are a member)
Nature Connects Art with Lego Bricks at the Morton Arboretum
  • Available to experience now through September!
  • More than half a million Lego bricks have been designed into nature inspired sculptures by the talented Sean Kenney.
  • Find all 15 displays and don’t forget to say hi to the trolls as well!
  • Exhibit is included with admission
9:00 AM  Toddler Time at Sky Zone Aurora
  • Enjoy the entire park with jumpers of the same size! For ages walking up to 5 years old.
  • Chapter 2 of this immersive art experience is finally here and it sounds like they have taken it to the next level. Don’t miss out on this cool experience!
  • Tickets must be purchased in advance, they are not sold at the door.
  • Arrive at your reservation time, and allow at least one hour to complete the experience.
  • Friday hours: 12-8:30; Saturday hours: 10-6; Sunday 10-7:30; Monday hours: 12-8:30.
Dupage Childrens Museum Story Time and Music & Movement
  • Story Time: 9:30, 11:30, and 2:30
  • Music and Movement: 10:30 and 1:30
  • The Downtown Wheaton Association is pleased to bring you Pistons & Pin Ups to ring in summer! Admire the new and improved Front Street as well as all the cars, food, and music!
  • Check out the vintage cars starting at 6 p.m., and celebrate the rededication of Martin Memorial Plaza (on Front Street just west of Main Street) with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6:30 p.m.
  • Free parking is available in the Wheaton Place Garage!

Chicago Memorial Day Parade & Wreath Laying Ceremony 
  • Wreath laying ceremony begins at 11 a.m at Daley Plaza and the parade follows at noon proceeding south on State Street from Lake Street to Van Buren Street.

*My personal suggestion? Take the kids to Lincoln Park Zoo (free) and walk over to North Ave Beach with your beach gear for a relaxing and cheap celebration!*

Spring Planting and Blacksmith Demonstrations at Kline Creek Farm
  • Watch the draft horses and see the kitchen garden prepped! Then head to the wagon shed to see the blacksmith demonstrate tools and techniques!
60th Anniversary Celebration at Santa’s Village Amusement Park all weekend
  • Begins on Saturday at 11 a.m and lasts through Monday
