The Sandwich Fair
- Wednesday, September 4th – Sunday, September 8th: Opens at 8 am each day
- 15730 Pratt Road, Sandwich IL
- Two mother / baby tents are centrally located for moms, nursing moms, and young families.
- “The grounds are unusually beautiful with many old trees lining the walkways. It has a country/community feel with decorations, and the buildings are historic and attractive. It has the charm of a smaller fair, but also has much of what a large fair has to offer. The biggest difference is the focus on agriculture. For families and kids, the visit can be a great experience (up close and personal) to learn about and, most importantly, experience this important part of our culture. Visiting during the week is peaceful and great for strolling. You will notice how most everyone is grinning from ear to ear! Hope to see you there.”
Chicago German – American Oktoberfest

- The Steuben parade begins at 2 pm on Saturday starting at 4000 N. Lincoln Ave.

Downers Grove Fine Arts Festival
- Saturday & Sunday beginning at 10 am
- “Main Street from Maple to Curtiss will be home to a variety of fine art. Nearly 50 artists will travel from across the country with art ranging in prices from $25 to more than $4,000.

2019 Elgin Fringe Festival
- The 2019 Elgin Fringe Festival runs from 6-9 p.m. Friday; 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday; noon to 4 p.m. Sunday; 5:30-7:30 p.m. Sept. 10; 2-10:30 p.m. Sept. 12; 2-11 p.m. Sept. 13; noon to 11 p.m. Sept. 14; and noon to 6 p.m. Sept. 15.
- “Fringe Festivals focus on performing arts but also include film, visual arts, and music. Performances take place in downtown areas in cafes, theaters, storefronts, and a variety of other locations.”
- There will be a family day 11 – 3 pm on Saturday, Family Fringe.

Throwback Music Festival

Or simply boogie down to the retro beats at the fourth annual Throwback Music Fest that will again be taking it to the streets of Chicago’s northwest side Gladstone Park neighborhood. - 7 am – Sunset: Dogs allowed on the grounds
10 am – 4 pm: Vendor expo and activities
$5 admission fee per dog - “Enjoy a “paw”fect day out with your pup, meandering down the Arboretum’s 16 miles of hiking trails. You can also shop from local businesses and organizations in the pet expo, watch special demonstrations, and meet dogs available for adoption and inquire about volunteering with local pet shelters. Sign your pooch up for some doggy games, including the crowd-favorite peanut butter licking contest!”

- “Elmhurst Park District invites you to bring the kids to Berens Park to touch, feel, and climb through a variety of trucks and vehicles, including fire trucks, tow trucks and more! Judges include Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) certified judges, culinary instructors and local civic leaders. The GEBBBQ is the largest non-sanctioned amateur BBQ contest in Illinois.”

- Frida inspired attire is encouraged, admission is free.
- All of this kicks off the debut of the Frida Kahlo 2020 exhibit coming to the Cleve Carney Museum of Art June – August 2020.
